Frequently asked questions
Getting started & account
What is JUGAD?
With the JUGAD app you can find fellow players and games near you. You can join existing games or organize one yourself.
Who is JUGAD for?
For anyone aged 16 or over who wants to play football in their spare time. Check the stated skill level and game description to find a suitable game.
Is JUGAD free?
The JUGAD app itself is free. Individual games may charge a price per player, for example for the hall rental. Tournaments usually charge an entry fee as well.
Do I need an account?
You can also use JUGAD without an account as a guest. However, some games require an account. You can only create games and tournaments with an account.
Where can I find my city’s WhatsApp group?
Select your city in the app. You will find the link to your city’s WhatsApp group in the top-right corner of the Game Feed.
My city is not listed. What can I do?
Select the nearest city for now. If you would like to build a JUGAD community in your city, see Start a community for more information.
How do I change my personal details?
Open Settings → Profile. You can edit your personal details there and save your changes. If you change your email address, you must then confirm the new address using the confirmation link.
Joining & cancelling
How do I find a suitable game?
Select your city in the JUGAD app and look at the upcoming games. Optionally, you can filter, for example by radius, price and indoor or outdoor.
How do I sign up to play?
Open the game you want and tap “Join”. Optionally, you can state whether you are bringing a ball or bibs.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes, in two ways:
- Your friend signs up themselves. This is what we recommend. They can also sign up as a guest without an account, unless the game requires an account. This lets them manage and cancel their own participation.
- You sign them up with you (+1 or +2). This is only possible if the game allows additional players. For a paid game, you also pay for your friend.
How does the waitlist work?
When the maximum number of players has been reached, you can put yourself on the waitlist with your account. If a player cancels, the next player moves up automatically. In the last four hours before the game starts, you have to confirm yourself that you still have time instead.
How is the waitlist sorted?
First by reliability rating. If the rating is the same, the order of sign-up counts. In the last four hours, players no longer move up automatically: watch out for the notification about a free spot and confirm your participation.
I can no longer play. What do I have to do?
Cancel your participation in the game as early as possible, as soon as you know you can't make it. That way other players can take your spot and the organizer can plan better. Short-notice cancellations are annoying and can leave the organizer stuck with the costs.
My game was cancelled. What can I do?
Ask the organizer or in the game chat. There you will find out the reason and whether there is a replacement date.
Organizing games
How do I create a game?
Log in to JUGAD. Tap “Create game” and enter the venue, date and other important information. As soon as your public game has been created, it is visible in the JUGAD app. Users in the area can be informed about it through matching game notifications.
Do I have to organize the pitch myself?
Yes, as the organizer you take care of the pitch. Make sure you are allowed to play there and whether a booking is required.
How do I reach more players?
Share the link to your game with friends, in WhatsApp groups or on social media. That way interested players can sign up for your game directly.
How do I change the venue or other details?
Tap “Manage” in your game and change the relevant details. For important changes such as venue and time, your fellow players are also notified.
A player didn't show up. Do I have to report this to support?
No, that is what the reliability rating is for. Rate the player as not attended. This lowers their rating. For future games you can use the rating to judge how reliable players are, and message them or remove them from your game if necessary.
A player played but didn't pay. What can I do?
First message them privately and ask them to pay the contribution. Maybe the payment was forgotten on site. If they don't respond, contact support. Use online payment via JUGAD for future games: players authorize the payment when they sign up. More about online payments via JUGAD.
Reliability rating
How does the reliability rating work?
The reliability rating ranges from 0 to 10. With ten rated games, 10 means: you attended 10 out of 10. 8 means: you attended 8 out of 10. 0 means: you didn't attend any game. Excused participations are not counted. All rated participations count, not just the last ten. More about the reliability rating.
I was rated as not attended even though I was there. What can I do?
Message the organizer of the game. They can change or correct the rating. If they don't reply within a few days, contact JUGAD support.
How can I improve my reliability rating?
Play in more games and show up reliably. More participations rated as attended will improve your rating again.
Does every cancellation automatically have a negative effect?
No. If you cancel within four hours before the game starts, the organizer can rate you as not attended or excuse you. Explain to them why you are cancelling at such short notice. Even if you didn't come without cancelling, you should tell them the reason. You are not excused automatically.
Why don't I see a reliability rating yet?
If you haven't played a rated game on JUGAD yet, there is no rating yet. It appears as soon as there is an attendance rating for your participation.
Kick Points
Are Kick Points and reliability the same?
No. Kick Points show your activity on JUGAD. The reliability rating shows how reliably you have attended your rated games.
What are Kick Points?
Kick Points show your activity on JUGAD. You can use them to compare yourself with other players and get the chance to win partner prizes in campaigns.
What do I get Kick Points for?
For taking part in games, organizing games and taking part in JUGAD tournaments. You can find the exact points rules on the Kick Points page in the app.
When do I get my Kick Points?
As soon as the organizer has rated attendance, at the latest three days after the game. Players on the waitlist don't get any points.
Do I get more Kick Points for online payments?
Yes. If payment is made online via JUGAD, players get 10 instead of 5 Kick Points. Organizers get 10 instead of 5 Kick Points per paying player. Approved cash payments don't count double. More about online payments via JUGAD.
Where can I see my Kick Points?
In your profile and on the Kick Points page in the app.
What can I use Kick Points for?
For the ranking and for campaigns with partner prizes. The rules that apply are stated in the respective campaign in the app.
How do campaigns with partner prizes work?
In ranking campaigns, the players with the most points during the campaign period win. In raffles, you need a certain number of points to enter the draw. Taking part in the raffle does not guarantee a prize. The exact conditions are stated in the campaign.
Do I have to pay shipping costs if I win?
No, we cover the shipping costs. Shipping takes place after the end of the campaign within the stated period.
Do Kick Points expire?
No, your Kick Points don't expire.
Which points count in time-limited campaigns?
Only the Kick Points you collect during the stated campaign period count for the campaign. Your other Kick Points are kept.
Can I transfer Kick Points to friends?
No, Kick Points are tied to your profile.
Why didn't I get any Kick Points?
Check whether your participation has already been rated. You don't get Kick Points for a waitlist spot or a rating as not attended. If the attendance rating is wrong, message the organizer. If everything has been rated correctly and points are still missing after three days, open the support chat.
Online payments via JUGAD
When will my money be collected?
You authorize the payment when you sign up. The money is only collected after the game.
Can I cancel free of charge?
You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the game starts. Within the last 48 hours, a replacement must be found; the minimum number of players also counts here. Without sufficient replacement, your contribution will be collected unless the organizer waives it. Players on the waitlist can always cancel free of charge. All cancellation terms.
What happens if the game is cancelled?
If the organizer cancels the game, no money is collected. Your payment authorization is cancelled.
Can the organizer waive my payment?
Yes. Message them privately and explain your situation. The organizer can explicitly waive your payment.
Which payment methods can I use?
PayPal, credit and debit card, Klarna, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Choose one of the payment methods shown when you sign up.
Problems & help
I can't find the meeting point or the hall entrance. What should I do?
Check the venue information in the app and the description of the game. Otherwise, write in the game chat or message the organizer privately. Allow a little more time for an unfamiliar venue.
The public pitch is taken. What do we do?
A game on JUGAD does not reserve a public pitch. Coordinate with the organizer and the people on site. If you move elsewhere, share the new meeting point in the game chat.
I don't get any notifications. What can I check?
Check your notification settings. It is best to download the JUGAD app and enable notifications in your device settings. How to turn on app notifications.
When should I contact support?
For insults, discrimination, aggressive behavior or suspected fraud, contact JUGAD Support directly. For other questions about a game, contact the organizer or use the game chat first. Give others some time to reply. If you cannot resolve the situation together, contact JUGAD Support as well.
What happens if I report someone?
The report is sent to the JUGAD team for review. It does not automatically lead to the user being blocked. Describe as precisely as possible why you are reporting the person. That way we can assess the situation better.
How do I report a game, a user or a message?
You can report a game using the “Kickrunde melden” (report game) button. This button only appears after the game. To report a user, use the flag icon on their profile. To report a message in a game chat or private chat, press and hold the message or use the three-dot icon, then select the report option from the context menu.
The location or price of a game is incorrect. What should I do?
Contact the organizer and ask them to clarify. Commercial games are generally allowed on JUGAD. The price does not have to cover only venue costs; it may also reflect the work involved in organizing the game. This does not justify incorrect location or price information.
I am no longer receiving emails from JUGAD. What can I do?
First check your spam folder. If an email permanently could not be delivered, the app displays a message saying that your email address is invalid and must be updated. Update your email address under Settings → Profile, save it and confirm the new address using the confirmation link.
Tournaments
How can I list a tournament on JUGAD?
Anyone can list a tournament on JUGAD. You can find more information on the page for tournament organizers.
How do I register my team for a tournament?
Open the tournament you want and tap “Register team”. Enter the required information and follow the payment steps. Many tournaments do not allow cancellations. You can find the respective terms on the tournament page under the information and cancellation terms.
Who should I contact if there is a problem at a tournament?
For problems at the venue, contact the tournament team first. At a tournament organized by JUGAD, such as a JUGAD Cup clearly identified as a JUGAD event, the JUGAD team is responsible. At other tournaments, contact the named organizer. JUGAD Support can help with problems involving the app or payment processing. JUGAD is not automatically the organizer, but it can organize its own tournaments and games when these are explicitly identified as JUGAD events.
Working with JUGAD
Can I advertise on JUGAD or sponsor a tournament?
Yes, there are various options: in-app advertising, tournament sponsoring and other joint campaigns. More about advertising and sponsoring.
How can soccer halls and pitch operators work with JUGAD?
JUGAD helps your groups find missing players. Joint open plays or tournaments can also be interesting. More for venue operators.
Can my club look for players via JUGAD?
JUGAD is generally intended for recreational football. For player recruitment by clubs in official league play of the DFB or its regional associations, you need the Vereins-Pass (club pass). More about the Vereins-Pass.
I have another idea for working together. How do I reach you?
Tell us what you have in mind. You can find an overview under Become a partner. You can send other ideas via our contact page.
Can recreational teams and leisure leagues use JUGAD?
Yes, if you offer open opportunities for others to join and play. Recruitment-only adverts without a specific open playing opportunity must not be posted as games. The separate Vereins-Pass rule still applies to clubs participating in official league competitions.
